“Superheroes”

Good morning fellow Toastmasters. After returning from our mini vacation our 08/24 meeting “Superheroes” really had us thinking on our feet.

Miguel (our TT master) had us thinking right from the start. Many different superhero situation scenarios were asked, which I think really let our Toastmaster skills shine. Michelle did an admirable job filling in as Toastmaster yesterday. Daniel gave every TT speaker advice they could really use. While Brian brought us a full feast (my favorite was the sushi :) Thank you very much Brian!!!

We had 3 prepared speeches last night...George (Street Fighter II) Florence (Workshop - Your Choice) Garvin (Reinvent You) 3 different types of speeches but all very engaging in their own way.

I thought Michael, Ernestina, & Charles all provided feedback & advice that each of the speakers could use for their future speeches.

I quickly wanted to remind everyone that we always want to respect the Church's wishes & not have any food or drink in the meeting area (only in the break room).

All in all a really fun meeting & great turnout (felt like we had a full house yesterday) We ARE in session next week (08/31), but not the following week due to the Labor Day holiday so make sure to come out and make your voice be heard next Monday :)

“Movies”

Good morning fellow Toastmasters. Our 08/10 meeting “Movies” kept us on our feet with many different questions about the big screen.
Ben (1st time Jokemaster) started us off with a very funny "ugly baby" joke lol. Our Toastmaster Florence ran a steady meeting getting us to our break and out on time. Alex (me) our TT master mixed it up a bit, asking questions regarding cinema in many different flavors. Dee provided very useful feedback which gave Toastmasters "things to think about" on how to improve their speeches.
Migo, Lucille, & Ricardo kept us refreshed with tasty and refreshments treats. We even had Coke Zero my favorite! Thank you everyone :)
Miguel started our prepared speech portion of the meeting giving a very animated speech named "409" (not the cleaning supply) lol, while Sindy spoke to us about providing effective feedback in the workplace, which is something we can all use in the office. Fabian offered Miguel some pointers on his speech & how to rage against the machine lol. While George giving just his 1st evaluation gave Sindy very poignant feedback as opposed to recapping her speech...if you ask me George is just about ready for the TT "evaluator" competition!
Last night's meeting was fun and entertaining, can't wait to see everyone again next week  :)

“Myths”

Good morning fellow Toastmasters. Our 08/03 meeting “Myths” was quite thought provoking, as I saw a lot of fellow Toastmasters very pensive last night.

Our Toastmaster last night Miguel back from a long hiatus ran a very efficient meeting. Joan our TT master really made us really think about our responses, and that was no myth lol. Daniela evaluated all Table Topic speakers very well with only a limited time to do it.

Ernestina provided us a healthy & very tasty alternative in way of refreshments. Gracias :)

Ben gave his opening icebreaker speech (he looked like a natural). And Brian continued his prepared speech rampage, completing his 5th in a very short period of time at Toastmasters. Both Byron and Lucille gave the speakers great advice on how to improve their speeches.
All in all a great meeting last night Toastmasters, we'll see everyone again next week  :)
