Hello Fellow Toastmasters,
Yesterday’s
meeting was centered on giving thanks, and our few, but mighty crowd
had the opportunity to share who and what they are thankful for. A
number of our members stepped in to fill roles, and for that we are
thankful for as well.
Brian
was our Table Topic Master for the night and asked our speakers varying
questions related to the Thanksgiving Holiday. One memorable question
asked, “Should alcohol be a part of the holiday celebration?” You can
imagine how that answer went J Fabian then provided our speakers with useful feedback, and that wrapped up the first half of our meeting.
Thank you to Martin for providing the refreshments for the night, they were tasty.
Last
night we were pleasantly delighted with four speeches during the second
half of our meeting. Alex W., a newly enrolled member, volunteered to
give us his Icebreaker speech. Our other speakers included Emi, who
spoke about believing and achieving as it related to a recent body
building contest he won. Diego shared with us very useful ideas to make
our homes more energy efficient rather than investing in solar panels.
Michael shared an argumentative business plan, which included our own
members of club 269, for the newly approved Proposition 64. If you want
to know more, you’ll just have to join us so you don’t miss out!
Our
General Evaluator George did an excellent job providing feedback for
the speech evaluators and quickly summarizing the overall meeting.
The end of the year is soon approaching; let’s finish it strong by coming to Toastmasters on Monday
nights and practicing our speaking abilities. Also, we will be
celebrating our annual end-of-the-year holiday party in a few weeks.
More details to come.
See you next week!
